About
I started my my martial arts training 1996. I spent a few months training fairly informally with a coworker who was a 3rd dan in a Shotokan derivative. After moving to Pennsylvania, I began training Tae Kwon Do. I trained for nearly three years, but simultaneously lost my love of martial arts and gained a lot of weight.
In 2003, I started training again at the same dojang with a much improved mental outlook. I earned my black belt in Tae Kwon do in 2004. In 2006, I earned my 2nd dan in Tae Kwon Do, in addition to a 1st dan in Hapkido. I also decided to start training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In December of 2007, I earned my blue belt in BJJ.
When I’m not injured, I train 5-6 times per week, including several classes each of Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and BJJ, in addition to teaching beginner and intermediate Tae Kwon Do classes.
